Infectious Diseases Research Education

Basic Science/Immunity and Infection Research

The Division of Infectious Diseases is committed to the education and training of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Currently, the Division’s faculty supervise 15 graduate students from a number of different home departments at UBC. Most of our students come from Experimental Medicine, Health Care and Epidemiology, Microbiology and Immunology, and Medical Genetics.

If you are interested in pursuing graduate or post-graduate work in infectious disease, please review the Division’s Research Programs to find a faculty member doing work in an area of interest to you.

More information on graduate studies at UBC can be found at – http://www.grad.ubc.ca/.

Immunity and Infection Research Seminars

The Division hosts a seminar series in cooperation with the Immunity and Infection Research Centre in which Faculty members, their students and invited guests give presentations on their research in progress. This provides an important forum for students, principal investigators and other researchers to discuss research and share ideas.

Unless noted otherwise all seminars take place at The Paetzold Health Education Centre, which is located on the main floor of Vancouver General Hospital in the Jim Pattison Pavilion South building. Enter through the main doors at 899 West 12th and proceed straight ahead past the information kiosk, past the elevators, and the doors will be to your right.
